Karrat Foundation and Arbitrum Partner to Launch Studio Chain

The Arbitrum Foundation and the Karrat Foundation, which is well-known for its association with the battle royale game My Pet Hooligan, are collaborating to launch Studio Chain. Using Web3 technology, this new blockchain is intended for gaming and entertainment, offering developers and players new experiences.

With the KARRAT token at its core, Studio Chain is driven by Arbitrum's Ethereum layer-2 scaling technology. This ecosystem's headline game will be My Pet Hooligan, which can be purchased on the Epic Games Store. The objective is to improve player engagement while building a solid foundation for Web3 gaming.

Offchain Labs' Partnerships Manager, Jack Fitzpatrick, highlighted how Studio Chain and My Pet Hooligan enrich the Arbitrum ecosystem with important culture and substance. He was enthusiastic about the partnership's potential to provide players and artists with novel experiences.

AMGI Studios, the team behind My Pet Hooligan, is expected to drive the success of Studio Chain. With early investments from Paris Hilton and Coldplay, the studio focuses on creating high-quality gaming experiences. It plans to introduce tokenized intellectual property, content rights, and new funding channels for game development.

AMGI Studios co-founder and COO Luke Paglia emphasized the significance of Arbitrum's infrastructure. According to him, it enables improved interoperability, engaging player-driven content, and smooth in-game asset ownership. These features will redefine how players engage with entertainment.

Bringing Studio Chain to More Platforms

The project is not limited to PC gaming. My Pet Hooligan will soon expand to Xbox consoles and additional PC gaming platforms. This expansion will make the game and its Web3 features accessible to a broader audience.

In My Pet Hooligan, Web3 elements will not be handled directly within the Xbox version. Instead, crypto assets and NFTs will be managed through the game’s web portal. The combination of AMGI’s proprietary architecture and the KARRAT protocol ensures that Web3 features are integrated without disrupting gameplay.

Several other crypto games are attempting to enter the console space, each with different approaches. Moonray, built on Ethereum, will launch on consoles without crypto features. Meanwhile, Off the Grid, currently in early access on Xbox and PS5, has yet to activate its Avalanche-based trading system. Developers have suggested that crypto features will function differently on consoles compared to PC.

Studio Chain will enter a market filled with other entertainment-focused blockchains, such as Ronin and Abstract. These Ethereum scaling networks already support gaming and consumer applications. Studio Chain will need to differentiate itself and attract users in a competitive environment.

A representative from the Karrat Foundation clarified that Studio Chain is not trying to outpace other blockchains. Instead, it seeks to complement existing solutions and establish itself as a go-to platform for entertainment innovation. The focus is on creating a unique space rather than engaging in direct competition.

The entertainment industry faces challenges such as frequent layoffs, studio closures, and complex funding barriers. Web3 offers new opportunities for intellectual property and content creators. Studio Chain is positioning itself as a solution for early adopters in entertainment, providing them with tools to explore new business models and engage with audiences in new ways.
