This August, The Sandbox metaverse, which is based on the Ethereum blockchain, is giving away a special set of NFTs as monthly rewards. These exclusive NFTs are available to owners of avatars from official collections. If you hold one of these avatars, you can start claiming rewards now.

Ways to Claim Rewards This Month

To be eligible for this month's rewards, you needed to have owned an avatar as of July 26th, 3 PM UTC. You can claim your rewards until August 30th, 3 PM UTC. After this deadline, the items will no longer be available.

The main reward you can claim immediately is the Rubber Duck Buoy NFT. This NFT has appeared in previous Alpha Seasons. To claim it, visit the official Claim Page where you can also track the remaining time to claim each reward.

Once you’ve claimed the Rubber Duck Buoy NFT, you’re on your way to collecting all the August rewards. This month’s rewards include four additional NFTs and 5 $SAND tokens.

To unlock the Quack Hat NFT, log in and play any experience in the metaverse for at least one day. Play for three days to unlock the Tufted Duck Topiary Balloon NFT and the Duck Slippers NFTs. If you manage to play for seven consecutive days, you’ll receive the Shoulder Perched Duckling NFT and 5 $SAND. With this, you’ll have collected all the rewards for this month.Source: X

Importance of the Rubber Duck Buoy NFT

The Rubber Duck Buoy NFT is crucial for unlocking the rest of the prizes. Ensure you log in and play using the wallet containing this NFT. If you don't own the Rubber Duck Buoy NFT, you might find it for sale on a secondary market. Buying this NFT will allow you to start claiming August's rewards even if you don’t have an eligible avatar.

Another way to get the Rubber Duck Buoy NFT is by watching Twitch livestreams hosted by Pandapops, a voxel artist and VoxEdit Community Manager. Keep an eye out for these streams for a chance to win the cute NFT.

If you missed the snapshot for this month, don’t worry. You can still prepare for next month's rewards by getting an eligible avatar and setting up a KYC-verified account. The next snapshot is expected to be around the end of the month, similar to the August snapshot. Owning an avatar from an official collection will set you up for future rewards.

Last month, avatar owners received one of five different Team Uniforms representing various sports, such as judo, swimming, basketball, gymnastics, and fencing. Players who wore their uniforms and completed 30 quests in any of the selected experiences received a matching weapon and bonus $SAND tokens.

Upcoming Events in The Sandbox

In addition to the avatar-focused event, The Sandbox has partnered with Otherworld for a new event featuring a prize pool of 65k $SAND. Of this amount, 15k $SAND is available to everyone who completes in-game quests by August 23rd. The majority of the pool is reserved for Solo Leveling: Unlimited avatar owners who must complete all the quests.

Last month also saw the launch of The Sandbox’s Rise of the Memecoins event. Participants in the memecoin holder-based part of the event should have received an exclusive NFT skin on August 5th. The event includes a VoxEdit Contest with submissions closing on August 6th, 11:59 PM UTC. The Game Jam for the event has begun, with submissions for meme-inspired experiences open for a chance to win a share of a 60k $SAND prize pool and more.
