Forge, the pioneering gaming platform that's transforming the industry by rewarding players for their in-game achievements, has recently secured an impressive $11 million in seed funding. Notably, this round was backed by well-known investors like Animoca Brands, BITKRAFT Ventures, and Makers Fund. The financial support also came from HashKey Capital, Polygon Ventures, Formless Capital, and Adaverse. This fundraising coincided with the platform's beta launch on October 18th.

The brainchild of gaming visionaries Dennis "Thresh" Fong, Kun Gao of Crunchyroll, and George Ng of Cyence, Forge traces its roots back to 2020 when it began as an AI-driven game moderation system. The initial GGWP project paved the way for a new venture with a mission to elevate gamers' contributions to gaming communities.

Centralizing Gaming Accomplishments

At the core of Forge's vision is the idea of enabling players to centralize their gaming accomplishments into one comprehensive profile. Carlos Pereira of BITKRAFT Ventures expressed excitement about this vision, highlighting the platform's novel approach in selecting games and creating questing incentives to promote community growth. This approach not only enhances the user experience but also draws more attention, compelling game studios to get on board.

Forge has garnered significant support from industry giants, with Riot Games, Sony Innovation Fund, Krafton, and Griffin Gaming Partners among its existing backers. In addition to these, the platform has attracted angel investors like YouTube's Steve Chen, Twitch creators Emmett Shear and Kevin Lin, Riot Games' Marc Merrill, and numerous other leaders in the gaming industry.

Co-founder Kun Gao shares his vision for the platform, emphasizing the importance of rewarding gamers for their identity, gaming history, passion, and involvement. Forge's beta launch marks the beginning of an exciting journey with a diverse array of games and eager partners ready to collaborate.

A Bright Future for Forge

To kick off the beta phase, Forge has partnered with multiple games, including The Sandbox and Pixelmon, and plans to introduce new games weekly during this stage. The beta is open for public sign-ups and offers participants a chance to secure a limited edition founders badge, unlocking exclusive benefits within the Forge community.

Forge is on a mission to reshape the gaming industry by placing gamers at the forefront and recognizing their contributions, and with the recent $11 million in seed funding, it's well on its way to achieving that vision.
