New Roadmap Reveals Web3 Launch Timeline

Eternal Squares just shared their latest roadmap for Eternal League. The update confirms that the web3 version of the roguelike action RPG will launch on the Epic Games Store in June 2025. This version will be powered by blockchain technology through a partnership with Immutable. It's a big step for the project and gives players something new to look forward to this year.

In July 2025, the team plans to release the Eternal League Squads NFT Collection. This will likely be one of the first steps in integrating NFTs into the game's ecosystem. Right now, we don’t know exactly what these NFTs will do. The team hasn't shared full details about their use or how they fit into gameplay. More information will probably come soon, possibly closer to the web3 launch.

Challenge Season 1 to Start in August

August marks the beginning of Challenge Season 1. This season will let players earn rewards by completing tasks and ranking high on leaderboards. One key reward is the game’s own token called Eternal Shards (EST). This token will eventually be available on Immutable zkEVM. The exact date for its token launch is still unknown. The full supply will be capped at 1 billion EST.

Players may need to use EST to enter tournaments and events. Winning or placing high in these events may result in extra rewards. You can also earn EST through ranked matches, PvE quests, co-op runs, or even by contributing to the community. This includes things like content creation and inviting new players to the game.

The token won’t just be for rewards. EST will also serve as a currency for the game’s marketplace. You’ll be able to buy and sell NFTs and gear. Players can spend EST to craft, upgrade, or repair their Gear NFTs. On top of that, you can use the token to get temporary boosters and potions. These can give your hero an edge in battle.

There will also be staking. This lets players lock in their tokens to receive extra benefits. These can include bonus drops, rare NFTs, or tickets for special content. Staking also gives you a voice in the game’s governance. This means players can help shape how the ecosystem develops in the future.

The roadmap shows that Eternal Squares is not stopping with Eternal League. In Q4 2025, they’re planning a beta launch for a web3 card game. There’s not much information on that yet, but it will likely tie into the Eternal League universe. If done well, this new game could add another layer to the overall gameplay experience.

Challenge Season 2 Set for December

To close out the year, the second Challenge Season will go live in December. This gives players a fresh set of rewards and new ways to interact with the ecosystem. It also shows that the developers want to keep the game active and evolving.

If you haven’t heard of Eternal League, it’s a sci-fi roguelike action RPG. The game puts you in a futuristic battlefield. You create your own hero, upgrade them, and build out your playstyle with deep customization. The game uses a top-down view and fast-paced combat. There’s also a session-based system that adjusts as you play. Your hero evolves based on your performance.

You can also recruit companions. These companions come with unique skills and personalities. You build your squad and use synergies to beat waves of enemies. There’s also a glyph system. This lets you use magical runes to mix up your skills. The result is wild, random effects that can lead to some fun surprises.

Eternal League launched in Early Access on Steam on March 26, 2025. The developers expect it to stay in that phase for around six months. The current version has 5 heroes, 4 levels, and 10 companions. It’s priced at $5.99 or the local equivalent. The full version will bring more heroes, mechanics, and challenges.

As of now, it's not clear if the web3 version will be free or paid. That information may be released later as the Epic Games Store launch date gets closer.

Final Thoughts

The new roadmap gives a clear look at where the Eternal League is headed. From the NFT collection to the EST token and upcoming card game, there's a lot happening this year. Whether you're in it for the gameplay or the crypto elements, there’s something here for every kind of player.
