Boss Fighters, the asynchronous arena combat game, has recently made an exciting announcement regarding their NFT migration to the Polygon blockchain. As part of this move, the Rowdies collection, their first set of character skin NFTs, will now be handled through Open Loot on the Polygon network. To incentivize players to make the transfer, the company is offering a raffle for a VR headset to all those who migrate their Rowdies NFTs before July 28th.
Moving to Polygon with Open Loot
The decision to migrate to the Polygon blockchain is a strategic move for Boss Fighters, and they have partnered with Open Loot to facilitate the process. Open Loot will handle the marketplace for Boss Fighters NFTs and NFT mints, offering players a seamless transition to the new network.
At present, Boss Fighters features the Rowdies collection as their primary set of NFTs. While an alpha mint is in the pipeline, the existing Rowdies NFTs have already gained popularity. Interested players can acquire these NFTs on Magic Eden, though the lower-priced ones have been quickly claimed, leading to a floor price of 1 SOL for Rowdies.
The migration process for Rowdies NFTs is relatively straightforward, managed through the Boss Fighters Hub. To transfer their NFTs, players need to visit their Digital Assets page, link their Open Loot account, and click the Transfer button. This process involves two steps: "burning" the Solana NFTs and then recreating them on the Polygon network. After migration, only the NFTs on Polygon will be accessible in the player's inventory.
A remarkable incentive accompanies the migration process. Players who transfer their Boss Fighters NFTs will receive raffle tickets based on the rarity of their NFTs, ranging from 1 to 25 tickets. These raffle tickets will enter them into a draw to win a coveted Meta Quest 2 VR headset. The winner not only receives this $300 VR headset but also gets a unique opportunity to experience playing the game as the formidable Boss character! To participate in the raffle, players must complete the migration before the deadline, which is July 27th, 11:59 pm EST.
Boss Fighters is an asynchronous, arena combat game where a team of players faces off against a single player controlling The Boss—a colossal enemy capable of wreaking havoc on the battleground. Fighters have an arsenal of weapons and gear, including guns, rockets, grappling hooks, and sticky bombs, to combat the fearsome Boss.
Incorporating NFTs and Gameplay
While Boss Fighters embrace blockchain technology and NFTs, it ensures that gameplay remains unaffected by these assets. Players can enjoy the game and earn in-game rewards without any interest in blockchain or NFTs. The NFTs within the game will be cosmetic items only, enhancing the visual aspect without impacting gameplay. The game will run in seasons, with players gaining experience, unlocking new gear, cosmetics, and upgrades. Between seasons, rewards are reset, but players can choose to mint specific items into NFTs using in-game currency. Boss players, central to the game, will receive increased rewards and bonuses for regular participation.
Boss Fighters aims to create a game show atmosphere and encourages player streaming. It seeks to develop an eSport that is both enjoyable for players and entertaining for viewers. The company plans to reward audience participation and explore ways to incorporate player-created content, such as customized maps, in the future. The hope is to expand these creative possibilities to include Boss creation, further enriching the gaming experience.
Final Thought
The migration of Boss Fighters NFTs to the Polygon blockchain and the Rowdies collection's move to Open Loot mark significant milestones for the game. Players have a chance to secure a VR headset through the raffle, adding an extra layer of excitement to the process. As Boss Fighters continues to evolve and engage its player base, the future holds promising prospects for both blockchain enthusiasts and traditional gamers alike.
