Samson: A Tyndalston Story first caught the attention of gamers for being somewhat of a GTA alternative. At its PC debut in early April, it was acclaimed by gamers as an open world game with a raw and street-level action experience.
Though it strayed away from the common gun-heavy crime games, it was not long before players started to love the game. However, they wanted some more polish. It is the first significant expansion effort by developer Liquid Swords, which has just announced that Samson will be coming to consoles in the Fall.
Samson’s Console Release: What’s Confirmed
Samson is poised to release on consoles in Fall 2026, according to reports. Liquid Swords didn’t exactly reveal which platforms we should expect Samson on. But hopes are high for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S compatibility, which is in line with the current-gen standards.
This console release is based on the previous PC release of the game in April 2026, when it was released on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The relocation is an indication of the developer who plans to develop and diversify the experience for a larger audience.

The PC introduction of Samson was hardly the smoothest. Initial reactions to the players pointed to bugs and performance issues. The game got a lot of mixed reviews. Some players admired its unique gameplay, but others pointed out massive technical flaws.
With that said, the developers themselves have been busy making patches and enhancements to the PC version. These fixes are strongly anticipated to be present in the upcoming console release, which would have a more refined experience at release.
In addition, the team will also add more content to Samson. The developers announced that Content Update 1 due in mid-May will be a dedicated combat expansion bringing new depth to the game’s grounded, physical fighting system. Content Update 2 in mid-June will deliver a vehicle-focused expansion adding to the driving experience.
The console launch is like a second chance for Smason. Those who skipped the PC version due to early issues could use the Fall 2026 release as an entry point. With community feedback shaping development, the console version may deliver the experience the game originally aimed for.
A Gritty Crime Story With a Personal Edge

Samson is the story of a man who is attempting to avoid being crushed by debt and save his family. The story is set in the fictional city of Tyndalston. It is heavily loaded with the themes of survival, desperation, and redemption.
Samson makes sure that things are kept down-to-earth, unlike many open-world titles that revolve around massive mayhem. The main character is neither a kingpin nor a superhero. He is merely a survivalist who is struggling to survive in a vicious system. Owing to this, it is almost impossible to discuss Samson without mentioning Grand Theft Auto.
The city environment, crime, and the free-roam system are all natural invitations to comparisons. However, as the developers claim, Samson will feel more like a short, intense action movie than a huge sandbox experience.
Think of Samson as a game for less sprawling world domination and more focused on moment-to-moment tension. The developers have also said that Samson is not trying to replace GTA; it’s trying to offer an alternative.
