Polygon Labs and Feature have announced a collaboration to release a new racing franchise called Lollipop. The franchise is an interactive and episodic NFT(non-fungible token) experience from the creator of The Fast and the Furious, David Ayer.

Ayer is a film director known for producing action films such as Suicide Squad and Training Day, but he is most known for his racing-themed series, The Fast and the Furious. He’s going to be responsible for the project’s writing and production, bringing his fast-lane flare into Web3

Lollipop is a project that will cross-stream for films, gaming, and sports. Details have been sparse regarding the full details of the project but according to its website, it will feature digital ownership between interactive gaming and episodic streaming

The feature is an entertainment studio and technology company behind many great projects that produced many of the films we watch and play today.  Through its Huxley project, it played a role in producing Iron Man, Uncharted, and Borderland.

As you might have noticed, the project has refrained from referring to its digital collectibles as “NFTs”. A statement from sources revealed that the founder and CEO of Feature, Steven Ilous, don’t use the term NFTs but rather prefers the term digital collectibles due to the negative stigma behind the term.

The project is expected to be a game-changer in the entertainment industry, as it combines different forms of media to create a unique and immersive experience for its audience. From how the project describes itself, it is similar to other newly released metaverse-driven experience NFT games such as Symbiogenesis

Released by Square Enix, the metaverse NFT game will be having its own collection of 10,000 NFTs behind a story that is shrouded in mystery and magic.  The team has progressively shown bits and pieces of the story so far on their Twitter, building up to its big reveal.

Final Thoughts

The release date for Lollipop has not been announced yet, but fans of The Fast and the Furious and racing games might find this digital collectible experience suited to their taste.
