Pokemon Is Turning 30 and the TCG Is Going All Out
The Pokemon Company dropped a full trailer revealing the 30th Celebration TCG set and there is a lot in it. September 16, 2026 is the global launch date and for the first time ever every region gets the set simultaneously in their own language. A Brand New Rarity Called Futuristic Rare Is Debuting Here
Futuristic Rare is a rarity that has never appeared in the Pokemon TCG before and it is making its first appearance in the 30th Celebration set. The debut cards are Mew and Mewtwo, both with new artwork, and the chase level sits around the same territory as Special Illustration Rares from high-class boxes. Picking Mew and Mewtwo as the first Futuristic Rare cards is not an accident, they are two of the most recognizable Pokemon in the game’s history and they are going to move boxes.
The new illustrations section of the set is doing some heavy lifting. Umbreon, Espeon, Lapras, Drifloon, Zorua, Lycanroc, Sylveon, and Greninja all have unique foil treatments with brand new artwork confirmed.
