The month of April was extremely eventful for Pokémon GO players. May could go one step further with its packed calendar. Spring Marathon is a double-header of Community Days, Legendary Raid bosses returned, and much more.

With the release of Paldean favorites and the introduction of gigantic Mega Evolutions, this month has something to offer to any Trainer. This is the full list of all the Pokémon GO May 2026 events.

New Debuts: Flittle and Mega Falinks

May 2026 marks the arrival of two notable Pokémon. The Psychic-type Flittle from the Paldea region will make its first appearance during the Spring Marathon. Additionally, Mega Falinks is set to debut during a specialized Super Mega Raid Day, offering a new challenge for high-level players.

Spring Marathon Event (May 12–18)

The Spring Marathon is a week-long event with seasonal Pokémon and egg-hatching bonuses.

5 km Eggs: Look for Flittle and special flower crown versions of Pichu, Togepi, and Happiny.

Research Encounters: Complete event-themed Field and Timed Research tasks. You can earn cherry blossom-adorned Eevee, flower-crowned Buneary, and a special Pikachu wearing a marathon visor.

Go Pass Bonuses: 2x XP for spinning PokéStops for Go Pass holders. Deluxe holders get 3x. Both will get 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance.

May 2026 Community Days

May has two big Community Day events.

Lechonk Community Day (May 9). Between 2 PM and 5 PM local time, Lechonk will be seen every now and then. Bonuses include 1/4 Hatch Distance and 2x Catch Candy. You can evolve Lechonk into Oikologne by 9 PM to learn the Ground-type Fast Attack Mud Slap.

Deino Community Day Classic (May 16). Dragon-type Deino also returns. Get Charged Attack Brutal Swing when you evolve Deino into Hydreigon by 9PM. Trainers get 3x Catch XP throughout the event.

The Raid Schedule for May

Prepare for a fiery challenge as Shadow Entei takes over gyms for a special Raid Day on May 2.

The Raid rotation for May is packed with Ultra Beasts and the return of island guardians.

Five-Star Raids

  • May 6–12: Nihilego
  • May 13–19: Buzzwole (Americas), Pheromosa (Europe/Africa), Xurkitree (Asia-Pacific)
  • May 20–26: Tapu Bulu
  • May 27–June 2: Tapu Fini

Mega Raids

  • Mega Camerupt: May 6–12
  • Mega Glalie: May 13–19
  • Mega Altaria: May 20–26
  • Mega Medicham: May 27–June 2

Shadow Entei Raid Day: On May 2, you can encounter Shadow Entei. The raid holds between 2PM and 5PM local time. Gyms can give you up to six free Raid Passes.

Super Mega Raid Day (May 23): Marking the launch of Mega Falinks. This “Super Mega” level provides more shiny chances and up to six free Raid Passes.

Max Battles and Shadow Raids

During May, Trainers will have a chance to take part in Max Battles. Dynamax Cottonee, Growlithe, Registeel, and Combee will feature on a weekly rotation. Shadow Cresselia will appear in Shadow Raids from May 6 to June 2.

Final Thoughts

May 2026 is an action-packed month that trainers cannot afford to miss. You can step out to get the shiny Lechonk, you can be training to be Deino Classic, you can be out to raid Ultra Beasts, you can be out to get Flittle. There is so much to do in the game.

To get as much out of it as possible, scheduling around event days and rotating raids will be essential. May is not any other content month. It’s a significant finale to Memories in Motion and a transition to Pokémon GO milestone summer events.
