Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Story Review

After spending a lot of time with this game, the story is the part that stayed with me the most, and this section of my kingdom come deliverance 2 story review really reflects that. It pulled me in early and kept me interested all the way to the end. What makes it stand out is how real everything feels. This is not a fantasy world. It is based on real history, and you can feel that in almost every moment.

The game is set during a civil war in Bohemia in the fifteenth century. The planet is not being saved from monsters by you. You find yourself embroiled in a complicated dispute between actual individuals dealing with actual issues. Not only because of Henry, but because everything seemed plausible, I started to care about what was happening. In order to learn more about the people and situations that I typically ignore in other games, I even took the time to study the codex.

It felt natural to play Henry once more. He is still just a regular guy attempting to survive in a perilous circumstance. His journey feels more significant since he is not overwhelmed. One of my favorite aspects is his relationship with Hans Capon. When necessary, their conversations may be both humorous and serious. They don’t feel like fictional characters from video games.

The narrative begins with a straightforward task. Hans and you have a message to deliver. However, things immediately go awry. The way the game gradually increases tension is what I found appealing. Even before it occurs, you can sense that something negative is about to happen. And it strikes hard when it does.

There are many moments where people betray each other. I stopped trusting characters very early on, and that feeling stayed with me until the end. One line in the game says you should trust no one, and after playing through the story, I fully agree with that. This part alone makes the kingdom come deliverance 2 story review worth talking about.

It can get rather gloomy in the game. Violence, loss, and some quite uncomfortable circumstances are all present. However, that isn’t always the case. There are also moments of lightheartedness. Everything is balanced by lighthearted jokes, cordial discussions, and calm moments. The game would feel too hefty without them.

Nevertheless, I do believe that certain side information is a little excessive. Although I can see why the developers intended to depict how difficult life was in those days, there are moments when it seems excessive. I didn’t think it ruined the game, but there were times I thought it wasn’t required.

By the end of the story, I felt satisfied. Henry’s journey feels complete, even though the larger war is still going on. It made me think there will probably be another game, and I would definitely play it. I also started thinking about what future content could look like, especially when considering a future kingdom come deliverance 2 dlc review.

Gameplay Mechanics, Quests, and Combat

The gameplay is what kept me playing for so long, and this is where my kingdom come deliverance 2 gameplay review really comes in. The biggest strength here is the quest design. I expected a lot of basic tasks, but most quests have something interesting going on.

Simple missions can develop into more complicated ones. I recall a mission that began as a routine assignment and abruptly transformed into something akin to a horror tale. It was brief yet incredibly unforgettable.

I completed nearly all of the roughly 100 tasks. The fact that so few of them felt dull shocked me. Each one seems like a little tale unto itself. I never felt like I was just slogging because of this.

Exploring the world is also a lot of fun. Although it doesn’t have as many diverse biomes as some games, it still feels authentic. Villages, hills, and forests all appear real. I rode about a lot because I wanted to, not because I had to.

However, the game is not perfect. Sometimes the open-world freedom does not match the story, which is something I also noted again in this kingdom come deliverance 2 gameplay review.

The Hungarian camp was, in my opinion, the best example. I made a terrible attempt to attack it early in the game. After growing stronger, I returned later. I gained better equipment, trained, and developed my abilities. I defeated nearly every person in the camp when I got back. It was a wonderful feeling. It was one of my favorite times.

However, the game instructed me to enter that same camp covertly later in the narrative. The issue is that I had already ruined it. That had no effect at all on the game. It pretended that nothing had occurred. For me, that ruined immersion.

Fortunately, these kinds of instances are uncommon.

Compared to the original game, combat feels better. Fighting with a sword is more fluid and manageable. I found that statistics are more important than competence at higher levels. In comparison to the original game, this makes it easier but also less difficult.

This time, archery is far superior. I didn’t previously appreciate using a bow, but now I do.

Blacksmithing is one of the new systems. Although it can be a little uncomfortable at times, creating your own weapon is incredibly fulfilling. I utilized alchemy more frequently because it is now simpler to comprehend.

Additionally, the perk system has been enhanced. You have practical options at each level. It’s a significant improvement because I didn’t feel like I was squandering points.

In general, I was captivated by the gameplay for a considerable amount of time. I wanted to continue playing even after several hours.

Graphics, Visuals, and Performance

The graphics are a big step up from the first game, and this part of my kingdom come deliverance 2 graphics review really shows how much has improved. I played on PC, and the game looks great.

The world is incredibly intricate. Shadows, lighting, and minute environmental features all work well together. Occasionally, I would simply pause and take in the view. It seems realistic and serene.

Though not flawless, character models are also superior. Particularly when conversing, certain animations still appear a little stiff. Although it is not a major problem, it is apparent.

Performance is much better than I expected. I could run the game at high settings without major problems, which is why this also connects to my kingdom come deliverance 2 pc review experience.

The majority of the bugs are tiny, yet they nonetheless exist. I saw some odd NPC behavior and amusing issues. There were very few glitches that interfered with gameplay, and even then, they weren’t very problematic.

Overall, the game runs well and looks great. It is a big improvement over the first game, and this kingdom come deliverance 2 graphics review definitely left a positive impression on me.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 PS5, PC & Xbox Review

I also tried the game on PS5 for a short time, which helped shape my kingdom come deliverance 2 ps5 review. The difference compared to the older version is clear.

Textures look considerably better, and the resolution is higher. Shadows and lighting also enhance the overall appearance. The world seems more vivid and intricate.

The game targets 60 FPS. Most of the time, it feels smooth. However, there are some drops, especially in busy areas with many NPCs. It is not perfect, but still very playable, which I also noticed again in this kingdom come deliverance 2 ps5 review.

Compared to PC, the console version is slightly behind, but not by much. My kingdom come deliverance 2 pc review still gives PC the edge, but consoles are very close now.

From what I tested and observed, the kingdom come deliverance 2 xbox review experience is quite similar to PS5. Performance and visuals are close, with only small differences depending on the hardware. Overall, the kingdom come deliverance 2 xbox review impression is very solid.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Game Review – The Verdict

After all the time I spent with this game, I can say this kingdom come deliverance 2 review reflects one of the most memorable RPGs I have played.

It has some problems. Your actions may not always be well received by the game. There are also a few small problems and design flaws. But they don’t happen often enough to ruin the experience.

What makes this game unique is how realistic it seems. The plot, the world, and the people all work well together. Instead of simply playing the game, I felt truly immersed in its world. I am also eager to see what future updates or expansions might bring, and will definitely return to share a comprehensive kingdom come deliverance 2 dlc review when that happens.  Until then, planning a follow-up kingdom come deliverance 2 dlc review simply reflects my high expectations for what the developers will deliver next.

Not everyone should play this game. It requires patience, time, and focus. However, it is a really gratifying experience if you are ready to put in that effort.

It is more than just a decent sequel, in my opinion. This game demonstrates the power of a well-executed historical role-playing game.
