NetEase Launched a New Event the Same Day as Season 8
Marvel Rivals Season 8 went live on May 15, 2026 and brought Devil Dinosaur along with it. NetEase decided to celebrate the new Vanguard’s arrival by dropping a limited time event built around him. The Devil Dino Hide and Seek event is playable right now and it ties into the Moon Girl storyline. The concept is simple enough. Play matches, complete missions, and earn rewards before the event closes on July 10 at 9 AM UTC.
Four Timelines With Two Mission Sets Each
The event splits into four timelines. Each timeline has two tabs: Decrypt and Search. Decrypt missions need to be cleared first before Search missions open up. That order is locked, so there is no skipping ahead. Only timelines one and two are available right now. The remaining two will unlock over the coming weeks. Players who fall behind on early missions will have to catch up before touching later ones.

The Missions Themselves Are Pretty Standard
Nothing complicated here. The missions play out the same way weekly challenges do in Marvel Rivals. Complete a certain number of matches. Deal damage. Take damage. Secure assists. Defeat enemies. All of it counts across Quick Match, Competitive, Arcade, and Practice vs AI modes. Nobody is locked out based on skill level since both matches count toward progress.

The spray drops from the first mission and the Chrono Tokens fill in the rest. Nothing too demanding here. Five matches and 30 assists can be knocked out in a single session depending on how long each game runs.

Search missions are a step up from Decrypt. Sixty eliminations and 40,000 damage taken require more time, but the gallery card at the end makes it worth pushing through. Playing a Vanguard like Devil Dinosaur himself speeds up the damage taken requirement since tanks absorb hits naturally.

Here is everything up for grabs across all four timelines: Holo Rex Nameplate, StarSnacking Solo Spray, Where Are You? Spray, Adventure Capital Gallery Card, Hostile Takeover Gallery Card, Chrono Tokens, and Units. No free skins this time. NetEase kept the rewards to cosmetic items and currency. Players who expected a Devil Dinosaur skin from this event will have to look elsewhere.
Best Way to Grind Through the Event Fast
Tank players have the easiest time here. Playing Vanguard covers the damage-taken missions passively since tanks absorb hits every fight. Assists come naturally from team play, and eliminations stack fast in Arcade modes where fights are constant and respawns are quick. Practice vs AI is the fallback for anyone who just wants to grind missions without dealing with real opponents. The event runs until July 10 so there is no real rush, but knocking out each timeline early means less catching up later when the final two timelines unlock.
