What the Black GTA 6 PS5 Controller Looks Like
The black variant draws inspiration from Vice City’s nightlife. A color-shifting finish runs across the body, shifting through hues that reference a Vice City sunset and neon lighting. Palm tree details are engraved on the sides, while the GTA logo sits on the back. The iconic VI logo with palm trees is stamped on the touchpad, and buttons come in pastel pink.
The color-shifting finish is the standout design feature. It changes depending on the angle and lighting — a detail that photographs differently in every shot. Furthermore, the pastel pink buttons against the black body create a contrast that leans directly into the Vice City color palette.

The white variant represents Vice City at daybreak. Palm tree engravings run along the sides, with the GTA logo on the back and the VI touchpad logo in the same position as the black version. Pastel pink buttons complete the look. However, the color-shifting finish on the white body reads differently — lighter tones, more pastel, closer to the beach aesthetic of daytime Vice City rather than the neon glow of night.
Both controllers share the same design language with color as the primary differentiator. In addition, the engravings and logos are identical across both variants.

What DualSense Features Apply to the GTA 6 Controllers
Sony confirmed both controllers carry the full DualSense feature set — haptic feedback and adaptive triggers included. PlayStation’s positioning is that these features let players feel Jason and Lucia’s story physically. For example, gunshots, car crashes, terrain changes, and water all have distinct haptic responses in supported games.
GTA 6 has been confirmed to make full use of adaptive triggers. However, whether the triggers respond differently to Jason’s military background versus Lucia’s fighting style is unknown. Nevertheless, Sony is leaning on that feature as part of why the DualSense version of GTA 6 is distinct from other platforms.
November 19 is GTA 6 launch day. As a result, releasing the limited edition controllers on the same date puts Sony in a position to sell a hardware upgrade alongside the game. Players who want the full GTA 6 setup — limited controller, matching aesthetic — therefore need to buy both at the same time.
Final Thoughts
Two colors. $84.99 each. Pre-orders September 10. Launch November 19. Palm tree engravings, color-shifting finish, pastel pink buttons, VI logo on the touchpad. In short, the GTA 6 PS5 controller is already designed to sell out before most people decide they want one.
