Fortnite Mode Shutdowns in 2026
In 2026, Epic Games announced a significant reorganization for Fortnite, including the elimination of multiple modes and layoffs. Rocket Racing will continue to run until October, however Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage already ceased operations on April 16, 2026. This choice aims to enhance the primary experience while decreasing less active modes.

This cross-game feature means purchased vehicles still have value. Even without the dedicated racing mode, players can continue using their cars in other parts of Fortnite.
V-Bucks remain fully safe because they are linked to the account, not individual modes. The 2026 changes do not affect balances or purchasing power. Players can still spend V-Bucks in the Item Shop and other active content.
There are no automatic refunds planned for these shutdowns. The currency continues to function normally, so there is no system-wide compensation.

Using Rocket Racing Cars in Battle Royale
Even after Rocket Racing ends, vehicles can still be used in Battle Royale. Players only need to equip their preferred car in the Locker under the Vehicle tab. Once selected, the car will appear during gameplay when entering compatible vehicles.
This system ensures that expensive car skins still have practical use. It also keeps customization relevant in the main game mode.
The refund procedure is still in place. Removals of free-to-play mode are not refundable by Epic Games. Refunds using return tickets, however, might still be available for recent purchases.

Status of Battle Royale and LEGO Fortnite
