What Dark Determination Does
Dark Determination is a high-level Edict that temporarily increases fighting strength, speed, and damage. Particularly in PvP or boss engagements, these bonuses can make challenging bouts into simple victories. Nevertheless, the character has transient debuffs that lower performance when the effect expires.
Despite that disadvantage, the ability’s influence in combat makes it extremely important. Even now, a lot of people decide to unlock it early and deal with the drawbacks later. The debuffs can be eliminated with upgrades, strengthening the ability over time.
How to Start the Quest
Speak with an NPC at Bus Stop 14, which is close to the beach, to start the task. By speaking with Rhett at any bus stop and choosing the appropriate route, players can get to this place. Once there, a black figure with a glowing orb marked “DETERMINATION” can be found by following the beach.
Engaging with this NPC reveals seven necessary tasks and initiates the quest. Early activation is crucial because progress only counts after the quest has begun. As a result, players can organically accomplish goals and level up.

Selflessness Task
One of the more difficult goals is selflessness because it calls for prestige. The Bloodlust Perk must be unlocked by players using Shards from the Prestige Shop. After completing a Prestige, which already necessitates achieving level 50, these Shards are obtained.
The next task is to battle Yoshikage Kira close to Bus Stop 1 after obtaining the perk. Delaying this assignment while advancing other objectives is often a better strategy because this boss might be challenging for novice players.
Reticence Task
Reticence focuses on skill and control during combat. The requirement is to defeat an opponent without losing more than 10 percent of total HP. While there is no level restriction, the challenge lies in maintaining precision during fights.
Repeated practice improves timing and defense, which helps complete this task. Players often achieve this naturally after gaining experience in combat mechanics.
Piety Task
Piety requires joining a gang and participating in gang wars. Players must be on the winning side of three battles. These fights involve multiple players and depend on teamwork rather than individual skill alone.
Joining an active gang makes this task easier since organized teams tend to win more often. Coordination and communication play a key role in completing this objective quickly.

Faith Task
Faith involves fighting a clone version of the character inside the Inner World. This is accessed by meditating on mats inside the gym near Bus Stop 2. The goal is to win the fight while ending with 5 percent HP or less.
This task requires careful control of damage taken during the fight. Players need to balance offense and defense to avoid dying while still lowering HP to the required level.
Hate and Purity Tasks
Hate requires defeating five members of the same gang. This can be completed faster by coordinating with teammates instead of fighting randomly. Planning makes the process smoother and avoids unnecessary conflict.
Purity focuses on winning three consecutive 1v1 matches. These battles take place through the PvP board at Morioh Station. Strong opponents can make this difficult, so practicing combat skills or teaming with friends helps improve success rates.
Repose Task
Repose requires defeating ten players above level 40. Unlike Purity, these wins do not need to be consecutive. This makes the task more flexible, though still challenging due to the skill level of opponents.
Players can complete this gradually while exploring or engaging in PvP activities. Consistency matters more than speed for this objective.
Completing the Quest
After finishing all seven tasks, players must return to the Determination NPC for the final step. The last requirement is another Prestige, which unlocks the Dark Determination Edict. This step confirms that the player has fully completed the journey.
Once unlocked, Dark Determination becomes a major boost to any build. While the initial drawbacks remain, upgrading the ability removes them, turning it into one of the strongest tools available in Bizarre Lineage.
