Axie Origins, the blockchain-based digital pet breeding and battling game, has officially ended its inaugural Rare Era and has begun its Epic Era. There will be a total prize pool of 33,600 AXS available over the two-week-long Epic Era. The game has also added Intermediate Crafting and extra utility slots in addition to the new period to increase the likelihood of crafting. With this update, four revised Epic Runes have also been released.

Players will have more opportunity to produce Runes and Charms to assist strengthen their teams during the two-week Epic Era, which is predicted to feature more builds and metas than the one-week Rare Era. Because of the larger time frame, the meta might change quickly. Only common, uncommon, and epic Runes and Charms will be accessible for crafting and trade during the Epic Era, and the prize pool will be 30% of 112,000 AXS.

Players can now use Moondusts acquired from the Daily Login Bonus as utility slots now that Intermediate Crafting has been unlocked. Four Runes — Moonlight Thief, Leaf Cloak, Prehistoric Armor, and Metamorphosis — have also been modified in the game.

Additionally, every player who took part in at least one Rare Era game will earn a Sealed Epic Rune Choice Box that they can use at any time throughout Season 2. Today, at 4–5 PM VN time, the Rune choosing package will be sent (January 18).

According to their blog post, the Axie Origins team is excited to see what new metas will evolve and how the community adjusts over the next two weeks. With the introduction of Intermediate Crafting, additional utility slots and updated Epic Runes, players will have more opportunities to craft and battle with their Axies. The longer Epic Era also means that the meta could change quickly, making the game experience even more EPIC.
