Axie Infinity Origins: Season 1 recently concluded with massive AXS leaderboard prizes and full of competitive spirits, however, the first season did not feel fresh when it comes to the meta and balancing because of the minimal adjustments from the alpha season towards the season 1. With this, the Axie Infinity team is looking to drastically change the meta and deploy necessary balance changes to make the game feel fresh again.
What’s New in Axie Infinity Origins: Season 2?
The Axie Infinity described the changes in Season 2 as a roadmap with four different stages. These stages will include different aspects of change within the game mechanics and card balancing.
Overall, the Season 2 update will introduce new mechanics such as Keep, Energy Burst, and some Bloodmoon tweaks. Additionally, the game will also have clearer and more specific playstyles based on Axie classes and this will be done through wide balancing changes to cards, runes, and charms.
The road to Season 2 will begin on November 23, 2022. The team also noted that the update will be deployed in multiple stages sequentially. The update will follow the following deployment stages:
- Stage 1: Core Mechanics Update (Keep, Energy Burst, Bloodmoon Tweaks)
- Stage 2: Cards, Runes, and Charms balancing
- Stage 3: Second batch of balancing based on community feedback
- Stage 4: Season 2 Launch after final tweaks
The specific details regarding the balancing patch will be released during the first days of each corresponding stage. On November 23, 2022, players will be able to see the specific details regarding the Stage 1 of the update.
Final Thoughts
We all know that the Season 1 of Axie Infinity Origins was not the best one in terms of balancing and overall gameplay but this is to be expected because it was just the first season of this new Axie Infinity game. Certainly, the succeeding seasons will be better than the previous ones so we are hoping for a much better experience in Season 2.
All we can do now is wait for the meta to change and develop once again so that we can play a whole different level of Axie Infinity gameplay in Origins. While waiting, why don’t you check out the other games from the Axie Builders Program!
