Ubisoft may be ready to take players back to the golden age of piracy. Reports about a brand new remake have emerged that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be remade under the name Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. There is a possibility that the game will be released much earlier than we imagine.

Various reports (with references to internal leaks) state that the game is going to be released on July 9. However, Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm it. Assuming that the rumors and gossip are real, we might be witnessing the largest Assassin’s Creed comebacks in a long time.

We got our first introduction to Black Flag back in 2013. It was soon one of the most enjoyed games in the franchise. The open-world exploration, sea battles, and tales of pirates remain a hit.

You play as Edward Kenway, a pirate torn between personal desire and 50 years of war between Templars and Assassins. Black Flag was in a lot of ways a rather individual game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

It has taken over 10 years, but Ubisoft appears to be willing to update that experience for the new generation of gamers. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is set to be released on July 9. Ubisoft does not have any confirmations.

Although none of these are confirmed by Ubisoft, some outlets are reported to be receiving early previews of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. This could mean that the release must be quite near the finish as well.

What’s New in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced?

Although Ubisoft has not published gameplay footage as of yet, insider reports and leaks already give a rather clear idea of what will be altered.

  • Not a Remaster, a Full Remake

This isn’t a simple visual upgrade. It is reported that Resynced has been totally redone with new mechanics, graphics, and extra content. Imagine the same but with contemporary recreations such as Resident Evil 4, the same but updated to the hardware of the present day.

  • New Story Content

Among the most thrilling new content is new narrative content, such as an extended storyline about Mary Read, a central character of the original game. This has the potential to further enrich the emotional curve and introduce new dimensions to an already beloved story by many fans.

  • Streamlined Gameplay Focus

Reports also suggest that the gameplay is more streamlined. Some of the recent Abstergo pieces could either be eliminated or removed from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Ubisoft is returning to the basics of Black Flag.

Sea warfare, adventure, and pirate narrative are going to be the core of the game. Also, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is not an RPG. It is a character-driven, single-player experience, more in line with the original formula.

Why This Remake Matters

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has pushed more into RPGs with the last few installments. Although that change introduced new gamers, some old fans were left with a sense of nostalgia about the previous style.

Black Flag Resynced might hit the right chord with its return to traditional settings, top-end graphics, performance, and storytelling. And, as Black Flag was among the best of the series, expectations are high with the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in July.
